BEI Kimco Magnetics Division has introduced its first flat voice coil linear actuator. The model LA05-30-001 is a thin, rectangular shaped linear actuator featuring a total stroke of 0.4" (10 mm), a continuous stall force of 3.4 lb. (15 N) and a peak force rating of 8.5 lb. (38 N) (for 10 seconds max.). It is a two-wire, hysteresis free, cog free, direct drive linear servo with infinite position sensitivity and features a linear force constant characteristic for simple control.

Model LA05-30-001 finds use in applications such as pick and place machines, where they can be mounted into actuator packs for moving individual components during high-speed auto-insertion type operations.

Unloaded acceleration capability is 80 g's continuous and 150 g's for 10 seconds.

Model LA05-30-001 features a housed sliding coil force arm that is supported by its own bearings. It also has an integral position sensor and can be supplied with a driver.

The Model LA05-30-001 flat actuator is only 12mm thick.
