BEI Kimco Magnetics LM series linear brushless DC servo motors are compact, hysteresis free, cog free and eddy current free. They have very high acceleration capabilities and are, like BEI Kimco's voice coil actuators, nearly ideal servo devices.

These sinusoidally commutated brushless dc linear servo motors are available in seven total stroke lengths: 3.2 in (81.3 mm); 4.8 in (121.9 mm); 6.4 in. (162.5 mm); 8.0 in (203.2 mm); 9.6 in (243.8 mm); 11.2 in (284.5 mm) and 12.8 in (325.1 mm). Peak unloaded acceleration capability is 68 g for each model. Continuous stall force is 191N (43 lb) and the static 10-sec. peak force rating is 578N (130 lb) for each model.

A commutation / position sensing linear encoder is supplied either mounted to the linear servo motor or separately for assembly to the load. Position resolutions to 10 nm and accuracy errors of less than 10 µm (calibrated) are available. Maximum encoder read head speed is 10m/sec.
