BEI Kimco Magnetics announces the introduction of the first model of a new Limited Angle Torquer product line. Developed to provide stabilization and relatively low-bandwidth position control features, the new unit is anticipated to offer a low-cost alternative to more expensive, multi-component assemblies.
The LATH23-10-000A is a non-cogging two terminal, bi-directional limited angle torquer with a rated stroke of +/- 50 degrees (100 degrees total). It features a 10 second peak torque capability of 13 oz.-in. (.09 Nm) at mid-stroke and a continuous stall torque rating of 7.1 oz.-in. (.05 N m). Provided in a small & compact 1.500" diameter housing with an integral 2.25" square mounting flange with mounting holes, the unit features a standard 1/4 inch diameter shaft. The unit also features a rear shaft extension to accommodate encoders, potentiometers and other rotary sensors, offering an ideal solution for closed loop operation.
The BEI Kimco torquer is ideal for gimbal drivers and other torquer applications. We are also finding uses in analytical instruments, pick and place robots or other applications requiring a stabilized platform and low bandwidth position control.
